DESCRIPTION: The Radar Operations Engineer will review, assess and advise if engineering solutions are designed in a manner to optimize and meet the needs of the soldier operators and maintainers and are relevant to tactical environments.
Primary duties will include (but not limited to):
Experience providing engineering support for ground-based target acquisition radars with an emphasis on counter rocket, artillery, mortar and air surveillance performance.
Ability to develop or review of requirements generation and baselines, system and subsystem specifications for elements of a radar sensor based on top-level radar system requirements, systems architecture and integration, test strategies and methodologies to evaluate new or competing radar designs, identifying shortcomings in radar performance, diagnose root causes, and develop design changes or corrective action and interface with multi-disciplinary product development team in support of design, integration and test.
Provide programmatic assessments for technology transition into PdM Radars platforms and related C2 systems.
Assessments shall include technologies under development in supporting research and development organizations.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field and a minimum of ten (10) years of General Engineering experience is required.
Four (4) additional years of related experience will substitute for bachelor’s degree.
