MITRE is currently in search of a software engineer to support multiple projects with extensive hands on experience developing complex software systems and leading agile software development teams. These MITRE projects are developing software systems in support of Army Electronic Warfare, and Signals Intelligence.
Potential technical work areas include:
Containerized Microservice development in C/C++, Python, and Java
Designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Open API Specification (OAS)
Opportunities in applying Accelerated Computing in the areas of Digital Signal Processing, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Natural Language Processing
Minimum Qualifications:
BS and 5 years related experience
Applicants selected for this position will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or applicants who are eligible for security clearances.
Required Qualifications:
B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar degree
Experience developing in Linux operating system environments
Extensive experience developing with either Java, C/C++, or Python
Understanding of industry standard software design patterns and best practices
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
Demonstrated experience in the full lifecycle and development of large software applications
Basic understanding of computer hardware architecture and it’s effect on system design and performance
Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance which will require US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience delivering production software to commercial or defense industry customers
Experience using Agile processes and tools
Experience working in Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environments
Experience working with Docker or similar technology
Exposure to programming with NVIDIA CUDA
Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing concepts and implementation
Able to brief and tactfully engage with senior customers/sponsors (e.g. government personnel, vendor senior staff)
