MAG Aerospace Software Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

US Citizenship and the ability to maintain a DoD security clearance required.

The candidate will assist with defining all aspects of software development from appropriate technology and workflow to coding standards. Support engineering team with technical justification for high level decisions for software development. Collaborate with other stakeholders to determine functional and non-functional requirements for software applications. Oversee progress of software development efforts ensuring consistency with initial design.

Provide technical guidance and coaching to developers and engineers. Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility etc. Technical expertise will be utilized to support all functions of the program management office (PMO) i.e.; contracts, configuration management, logistics. Daily tasks may include leading technical meetings with USG and subcontractor(s), status and timeline reports, identifying program risks and opportunities, and reviewing technical data for accuracy.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance required

  • 15 years of experience required

  • Technical experience in MARSS, EMARSS, or Guardrail variants of the aircraft platforms

  • Understanding of various coding methods and computer languages

  • Data modeling and database design experience

  • Sound knowledge of development and operation methods related to agile software

  • Deep knowledge of practices and procedures related to the distributed architecture

  • Must be able to board aircraft while on the ground

  • 25% OCONUS travel as required and CONUS locations where aircraft are stationed as well as APG, MD
