Sabre Systems, Inc. Systems Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
Sabre Systems is currently hiring a Systems Engineer to support the Space and Terrestrial Communications Directorate’s Cyber Security and Information Assurance Division/Cryptographic Modernization Branch and provide engineering/testing for evaluating cryptographic modernization technology for tactical deployment. The selected candidate will provide intermediate level engineering and manage, design, test, and implement cross-platform solutions for secure communications.
The Systems Engineer will:
Address software capabilities through documentation review.
Design, develop, evaluate, and maintain software design documentation as needed.
Support complex technical reviews and comment substantively to clarify technical priorities and grading metrics.
Review and comment on data encryption interoperability specifications, identifying changes to assure products developed to the specification would truly be interoperable.
Provide support in review and comment of Army documents regarding impact of Information Assurance on proposed specifications, acquisition and doctrine.
Coordinate with the Engineering and Test teams through a variety of processes to ensure that software meets Army requirements.
Provide troubleshooting expertise and drive resolution for all issues in Developer and Test environments, and other environments on an as-needed basis.
Support the development and evaluation of android applications for secure communications, as well as an assessment of near-field communications.
Support team relationships and coordinate work efforts across various locations.
Be a self-starter, capable of progressing on a project with minimal guidance.
Work independently and with a small team to conduct source code review to identify vulnerabilities of emerging cyber security tools and equipment.
Travel from Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to Ft. Meade, MD on a regular basis.
A Bachelor’s degree in an IT or Engineering related field and ten (10) years of related experience is required. In lieu of a degree, an additional eight (8) years of related experience is required.
The selected candidate must have five (5) years' experience working with NSA processes, preferably certification, TRANSEC, or encryption groups. Experience with National, DoD and Army policies related to national security systems and experience with Army encrypted radio products is required. Knowledge of Electronic Key Management Systems (EKMS) and Key Management Infrastructure (KMI) is highly desired.
The selected candidate must have an active DoD Security Clearance or be a US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
