Oracle Oracle Product Marketing Senior Director, Autonomous Database in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Development and implementation of business plans, marketing strategy, and forecasts for a product/service or vertical market. Manages a staff of managers.

As a manager in product marketing, you will be responsible for leading the development of company marketing specifications for specific product(s) or product line(s). Manage marketing activities within the context of the overall corporate plan to meet company objectives. Monitor the development of business plans and business results of e-marketing. Manage lifecycles and product positioning in the market place. Identify customer needs, oversee market research, and monitor the market trends/competitive landscape. Implement and monitor advertising campaigns. Act as a technical advisor for specific product(s). Initiate and foster relationships with development, sales, and other groups to develop new products or enhance functionality of existing product(s) or product line(s). Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Directs and ensures the implementation of operational policies through subordinate managers. Interacts internally and externally with executive management involving negotiation of difficult matters to influence policy. Functional expertise and broad company knowledge. In-depth knowledge of the computer industry, database and development technology and markets. Extensive marketing analysis experience. BA/BS degree. MBA preferred.

As a Senior Director of Autonomous Database product marketing, you will be responsible for leading the development of global marketing content for the company’s premiere database offering. Responsibilities include managing new product introductions and enhancements; creating marketing-led opportunities via demand generation campaigns with field marketing teams; securing customer references from both global and regional brands; driving traffic to key pages on Oracle.com; and producing high impact, high quality digital content, such as videos and infographics that can be successfully leveraged across a multitude of social engagement platforms. You will work collaboratively with Oracle Database Product Management & Engineering to ensure that both current and future offerings are marketed successfully around the world. Manage a team of product marketing professionals specifically focused on Autonomous Database, ensuring excellent writing skills and consistently high quality content output. Additional responsibilities include: Manage marketing activities within the context of the overall corporate plan to meet company objectives. Monitor the development of business plans and business results of all related marketing and sales programs. Manage lifecycles and product positioning in the market place. Identify customer needs, oversee market research, and monitor the market trends/competitive landscape.

In-depth knowledge of the Database Cloud market is vital to the success of this role. Overall Database industry experience of at least 10 years in a product marketing capacity. Ability to write clear, succinct business documents for senior management review and communicate effectively to key stakeholders across multiple lines of business is expected of this role. The ability to understand the competitive landscape and translate Oracle’s advantages into compelling marketing content is key. Experience with analytics-based marketing campaigns is required.
