Par Government Systems Corporation Principal Systems Engineer in Annapolis Junction, Maryland
The successful candidate will lead the systems engineering aspects of this exciting research and development program, as well as the requirements and operational requirements of the project that align with subject matter requirements of the NSA customer. He/she will be responsible for leading key aspects of the requirements, design, deployment, and implementation of the systems engineering aspects of the program. The systems engineering aspects of the program will be also be concerned with training, testing, and evaluation, as well as compliance and data governance. The candidate will work closely with PAR’s HPC Lead, as well as software and data engineers, data scientists, and compliance and governance professionals.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Work with various team members (e.g., systems engineers, AI/ML experts, HPC experts)
Create prototypes and proofs of concept for iterative development
Learn new technologies and apply the knowledge in production system
Support program office in the oversight of staffing processes
Partner with various teams to define and execute program objectives
Identify issues with the integration, program execution, or staffing
Skills: requirements, design, architecture, program planning, test and evaluation
Experience with systems engineering, across hw, sw, and data
Experience with projects ranging from prototyping to transition planning
Excellent communication and presentation skills, specifically able to convey technical information in a clear and unambiguous manner
Experience in research projects as well as operational system developments
Experience with subject matter associated with SIGINT application areas where HPC is being applied
Detailed oriented/self-motivated with the ability to learn and deploy new technology quickly
TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly
BS and MS in Computer Science, Mathematics, or related technical field or equivalent experience
15+ years in program management and systems engineering
Experience in overseeing prototyping efforts
Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
Ability to express complex technical concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing
Familiarity with high performance computing programs.
Experience with a range of mission areas
Experience with software tools such as Git/Gitlab, Salt, Confluence, Jira, etc.
Experience with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and their enabling tools such as Jenkins, Nexus, etc.
Experience with HPC architectures and/or GPUs
