Oracle Product Manager/Strategy 3-ProdDev in Annapolis Junction, Maryland

Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Summary:

Oracle is looking for a customer-oriented and self-motivated Product Manager to join the Database Tools product management team. As a product manager working in the Database Cloud Service offering domain, you will work with development teams to deliver new Cloud offerings and product features for our customers. You will work with team members across many functional areas including product management, UX design, engineering, testing, documentation, and support. You will work with customers to define business requirements, work with teams across the product and translate these requirements to functional deliverables and be responsible for the overall success of your product area.

An ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication, prioritization, and cross-functional team collaboration skills, as well as a user-centric approach to solving problems.

You will be a crucial element of the team launching a new document generation service in the Oracle Cloud. Application developers will be able to utilize this service to dynamically generate and deliver business documents (PDF, Word Docs, etc) for their applications and customers using this service

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively define and drive the execution of new features that delight our customers.

  • Collaborate with customers, partners, and internal subject matter experts to gather detailed business requirements.

  • Collaborate with our research and design teams to flesh out customer/partner requirements.

  • Gather use cases, develop user stories, and document detailed product requirements that clearly articulate desired product functionality to solve customers’ problems.

  • Work closely with development team members to deliver high quality features.

  • Develop a broad understanding of the marketplace and competitive environment.

  • Manage the product backlog and prioritize product enhancements, customer and partner requests by making smart, decisive tradeoffs using data-driven analysis and sound judgment.

  • Partner with Marketing, Sales, Professional Services and Support to successfully rollout our products and ensure a great end-to-end customer experience.

Be the ‘face of the product,’ presenting internally and externally.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • 0-3 years of product management experience

  • Cloud PaaS/SaaS concepts

  • Experience with REST APIs is a bonus

  • Ability to analyze and break down business requirements and translate them into functional requirements.

  • BA/BS in information technology, computer science, or business administration preferred.

  • Experience working directly with customers
