Par Government Systems Corporation Senior Software Engineer in Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Position will work on the development of multi-purpose media player SDK for use by multiple applications at NSA.
PAR is a recognized as a leader in the processing of geospatial imagery and video streams. Our Software Development Kits (SDKs) and software applications have been enabling users for over half a century. We currently have a need for an experienced video software engineer to join our team in order to adapt our industry leading technology to Intelligence Community requirements. You will be successful in this position if you thrive in a highly collaborative team environment and are willing to receive and provide technical feedback to other developers working on the project.
Position requires fundamental understanding of the following technical areas:
14+ years of experience in software development
C, C++, Java
Video Protocols such as RTSP / RTP, WebRTC, MEPG-TS, MPEG-DASH
Video CoDecs (AVC - H.264, HEVC – H.265, VP9 and AV1) and video containers
Network protocols such as TCP and UDP as they apply video data packets
Experience building, using, and integrating with FFMPEG
Familiarity or previous experience with the following will be helpful:
Deploying applications in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud and using AWS services helpful
Experience in Java, Python, or Java Script is a plus
OpenCV, and GDAL
Understanding of image compression including JPEG, Motion JPEG, JPEG 2000
Familiarity with the NITF or STANAG 4545, Compendium of Controlled Extensions
Algorithms to perform object recognition, object tracking, image mosaicking, image super resolution, image scaling, orthorectification, video stabilization
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Currently holds a TS/SCI with Full Scope Poly
BS Degree in a STEM related field and 14 years of experience in SW development
