Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

The OCI Customer Engineering team is chartered with directly assisting customers in implementing workloads on OCI. This team is a customer facing group with Cloud Delivery Managers accountable for workload implementation with the support of Solutions Architects. A typical customer engagement will be to validate customer requirements, ensure proper architecture to meet the requirements and assist the customer in leverage native OCI cloud services to implement their workload. The hands-on nature of this role will result in the delivery managers and solutions architects becoming trusted advisors to the customer.
In order for the customer engineering team to succeed, it is imperative that the delivery managers and solution architects meet and maintain a high bar of technical excellence. The technical director will be responsible for ensuring that the customer engineering team meets that bar by designing and maintaining a technical on-boarding program, driving continuing education into the organization and importantly, acting as a primary liaison with product development to ensure the customer engineering team is enabled on new features and services when they are released.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Define the customer engineering technical bar
Create onboarding programs for delivery managers, solutions architects and solutions engineers
Deliver enablement to the globally distributed customer engineering team
Build strong relationships with OCI product management and development
Track the release of new services and features
Ensure customer engineering team continues to meet the technical bar by developing continuing education strategies
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Significant experience with public cloud providers
Strong knowledge of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS
Experience working with APIs and software development frameworks
Track record of delivering strong technical enablement programs
Advanced systems administration experience on either**nix or Windows.
Expertise with IaaS and PaaS implementations
Experience with Oracle technologies including applications, database, business intelligence, analytics, SOA/integration
Experience migrating or transforming customer solutions to the cloud.
Experience with Infrastructure Automated Deployment models preferably leveraging CI/CD supported by DevOps teams
