Summary You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Technical Support Department of NAVACADEMY. Salary Range for the GS-10 position: $66,216 through $86,085 Salary Range for the GS-11 position: $72,750 through $94,581 Responsibilities You will design and constructs a variety of highly complex and accurate models, and devices from wide variety materials. You will consult with and instruct midshipmen and others in the technical aspects relating to model making. You will conduct research on new materials and established techniques and procedures for their use in model making. You will design and direct the construction of and/or personally fabricates various test devices utilizing naval architectural and aircraft drawings, sketches and /or oral information, designs. You will consult with and advise Midshipmen, Trident/Bowman Scholars, and other academic customers regarding composites and woodworking technologies, processes, materials and fabrication techniques. You will instruct Midshipmen, Trident/Bowman Scholars, academic customers, and other authorized personnel in the proper techniques employed in the composites and woodworking construction of components and structures. You will prepare outlines of subject matter, and conducts laboratories/lectures about advanced composites and woodworking processing techniques for groups of students and academic customers. You will research and implement new and current features of Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software programs and applies those features to manufacturing processes. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications For the GS-11 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Instructing personnel in the proper techniques employed in the composites and woodworking construction of components and structures, manufacturing efficiencies, and materials selection; 2) Designing and directing the construction of and/or personally fabricating various test devices utilizing naval architectural and aircraft drawings, sketches and /or oral information, designs; 3) Planning and constructing a variety of complex and accurate models and devices with compound curves and irregular shapes; 4) Researching and implementing new and current features of Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAD/CAM) software programs and applying those features to manufacturing processes. . For the GS-10 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance on techniques for developing models in Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to enhance manufacturability; 2) Testing models to accomplish appropriate design and fabrication of models and devices; and 3) Developing solutions to model making issues. .
