Aerotek Systems Engineer in Annapolis, Maryland

Aerotek is seeking a Systems Engineer to support their air to ground communications system serving the commercial aviation and government air traffic authorities around the world.

This system is comprised of hundreds of radio ground stations, interfaces to satellite ground-earth stations and hundreds of airlines for both civil and government.

This Systems Engineer will be responsible for systems engineering, integration, and testing with a focus on Asia.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze statement of need and business requirements

  • Perform analysis for the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements, including software and hardware

  • Develop solutions in collaboration with cross discipline engineering teams

  • Perform integration and system test activities and customer acceptance testing in a laboratory environment

  • Analyze statement of need and business requirements

  • Develop solutions in collaboration with cross discipline

  • Write test plans and procedures for system testing and factory acceptance testing

  • Prepare well-written test reports for stakeholder review and participation in project closure activities

  • Provide day-to-day support such as responding to questions and addressing issues raised by Asia customers or the Collins teams who support them in Asia

  • Provide project support for Asia customer-driven out-of-cycle software upgrades which includes delivering cutover plans, testing, and deployment support

  • Perform 24/7 on-call support duties for incident response

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% time to Asia customer sites

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO OBTAIN A U.S. SECURITY CLEARANCE

  • Must be willing to do international travel

  • 3+ years of system engineering experience and/or system integration and test engineering

  • Experience on full life-cycle projects- development, integration, test, and implementation

  • Performing technical planning, system integration, verification and validation

  • Experience with functional analysis, operational scenarios, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications

  • Eliciting and managing customer requirements

  • Working in a highly integrated team environment with software, hardware, and network engineers
