If youire beginning your career journey or performing at your peak level, we invite you to consider our aviation family for your career.MDOT MAA is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Building Maintenance Manager (Chief Facility Maintenance Officer) in the Office of Facilities Maintenance at the Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI Marshall Airport).Responsibilities included but are not limited to:i Planning, coordinating, and managing the maintenance support for BWI Marshall Airport as well as secondary support for Martin State Airport.i Managing the daily MAXIMO Work Order process for Building Maintenance staff, as well as purchasing, asset management, and inventory control for the Office of Facilities Maintenance staff;i Provide supervision, support, and oversight of the Aviation High Voltage Electrical Shop, and indirect supervision over Aviation High Voltage Electrical Tech Supervisors and Aviation High Voltage Electric Technicians;i Provides input relative to the development of both the capital and operating budget for the Office of Facilities Maintenance and Building Maintenance as well as manage the Building Maintenance budget to ensure that the spending authority is not exceeded, and appropriations are utilized per policy;i Oversight of snow removal operations for airfield aprons, aircraft gate areas, airfield sidewalks, Airport access roads, and shuttle bus stops during winter weather events;i Routine and non-routine monitoring of various operational activities and services such as electrical installation and repairs, carpet replacement, plumbing, carpentry, welding, painting, door locks and keys, masonry and ceramic tile, and flooring to ensure both contract and general compliance with directives, policies, and procedures; andi On-site inspections of facility maintenance work to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards. On some assignments, employees may be required to supervise work on equipment located at high elevations or in cramped quarters in buildings or underground.This position is an emergency essential position. All employees designated as emergency essential are required to be available to work during weather, operational and/or disaster emergency conditions. Furthermore, this position requires work in a 24- hour facility and you must be available to work any shift as required by the operational needs of the Maryland Department of Transportation Maryland Aviation Administration.This position is located at BWI Marshall Airport, Anne Arundel CountyQUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Eight years of experience in construction, facilities maintenance or skilled trade work. Four years of this experience must have been in a supervisory capacity.LICENSES and CERTIFICATIONS:1. Employees in this class are assigned duties which require the operation of motor vehicles. Employees must possess and maintain a Class C motor vehicle operatoris license valid in the State of Maryland.
