The MTA is one of the largest transit systems in the United States and is seeking dynamic and energetic individuals to join the MTA team.The Maryland Department of Transportation's Maryland Transit Administration (MDOT MTA) is recruiting for Supervisor, Catenary. The Supervisor, the Catenary is responsible for supervising the work of the lineman involved in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the catenary. This position ensures Federal and OSHA safety standards are maintained during site work. Duties also involve tracking and analyzing time, materials, and general expenses of maintenance projects. Employees in this class directly supervise Technician Linemen. Employees receive managerial supervision from a Superintendent, Catenary Maintenance, or other designated official. The work is performed in a railroad setting which may be hazardous. The work at times may require the lifting of 50 lbs. On some assignments, employees may be required to wear protective clothing or safety equipment. This position is located in Baltimore City, Md.QUALIFICATIONS: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.Experience: Four (4) years of experience assigning, installing, repairing, overhauling, and maintaining catenary, transmission, or utility lines.Notes: 1. Additional experience may be substituted for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis for up to four (4) years.2. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant on a year-for-year basis for the required education and experience.If you have held more than one (1) position at the same employer, please list each position (and the duties of that position) that you held and the length of time that you held each position.PHYSICAL ABILITYMust be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds as determined by agility test.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:1.
