What You Will Do
Construction Field Inspector (Civil & Structural): This is technical construction inspection work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications involving projects for. The employee is responsible for ensuring that those aspects of each project for which he/she is cognizant are completed in accordance with approved plans and specifications along with approved methods and procedures. Employee receives assignments from and reports to the Senior Inspector who, based upon daily contacts, observations and records, evaluates employee's performance as to effectiveness and completeness of preparation for daily duties and success in achieving contractor's compliance with contract technical, workmanship and safety provisions of the contract.
This position will be based out of our Baltimore office.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma
Valid Driver’s license required
Must possess OSHA 10-hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
Solid understanding of construction inspection services, including documentation preparation and control
Ability to carry 50 pounds (testing equipment).
Experience with quality assurance and quality control techniques.
Ability to utilize computer systems for documentation and data management
Ability to read and interpret plans and contract specifications
Skilled at applying mathematical formulas and engineering principles to determine field adjustments.
Ability to communicate inspection items effectively and responsibly (verbally and in writing) with internal and external customers (i.e., contractors, owners, sub consultants, designers, architects and fellow team members).
Ability to stand and sit as needed on project work sites, climb ladders, work at heights, and work outdoors in a wide range of weather conditions, periodic weekend and night work may be required
Ability to safely navigate construction work sites with uneven terrain
