The Defined Contribution Investment Only (DCIO) business was established in 2016 as a separate stand-alone effort within Americas US Institutional business under the leadership of Michael Davis, the Head of US Defined Contribution Specialists. The DCIO business segment will continue to be a meaningful growth engine for T. Rowe’s US Institutional business. Global Distribution Americas serves the investment needs of professional buyers across the US and Canada.
The DC Specialist will be responsible for driving asset growth in the large and middle market US DCIO segment throughout the Central US Region. He/she will take a lead role in driving the growth of new clients in the DCIO market with a focus on large and middle market corporate 401k plans, Public DC (e.g. 457) and 403b segments, growing focus areas for the firm. Additionally, they will work in close collaboration with other members of the DC Specialist team, the Institutional Business Development team, the Client Service team, the Consultant Relations team and the Senior DC Strategist to strategically introduce T. Rowe Price’s capabilities to the firm’s existing institutional client base. The primary focus of this role will be to drive new sales and deepen the firm’s relationships in this channel.
Successfully develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan to grow relationships and revenues across large and mid- market 401k, 457 and 403b client segments.
Develop new relationships and sales opportunities through a strategic and proactive business development campaign. Effectively manage the sales process to grow assets under management by initiating and following up on new business opportunities, leading new business meetings and closing sales.
Work in close collaboration with the Senior DC Specialist in the Central region, the Senior DC Strategist, Institutional Business Development, Consultant Relations and Client Service teams to effectively grow assets under management from existing clients and relationships.
Participate in cross-Business Unit projects on DC industry topics and assist with the implementation of firm-wide DC initiatives. Be a proactive champion for the T. Rowe Price brand and its investment capabilities to this critical channel.
Minimum of three years’ sales or sales support experience, with a demonstrated track record of raising assets, or supporting the raising of new business and establishing strong client relationships across all large and mid- market DCIO segments; including 401k, 457 and 403b client types, preferably in a Central U.S. sales territory.
Demonstrated problem solving abilities with a results orientation and a history of successfully executing strategic sales agendas is critical.
Extensive and broad investment knowledge with regards to DC client needs, spanning a wide range of asset classes; a functional understanding of DB plans would be an additional plus.
Strong understanding of retirement solutions, thought leadership and understanding of the investment framework of DC plans, including target date funds and other product solutions appropriate to the DC market.
Solid DC industry expertise, especially with mid- to large institutions, with a good understanding of both the issues they face and industry trends more generally.
Must have a comprehensive understanding of financial investment products and knowledge of trends and regulatory issues facing large market retirements clients. Direct experience with 457 and 403b plans would be preferred.
Fluency in defined contribution regulatory issues and the potential impact on the investment solutions for plan sponsors.

Solid understanding of the marketing and operational elements of client, consultant and prospect interaction.

Advanced degree and/or CFA preferred, but not required.
Flexibility across select US cities/states-Baltimore, Chicago, or other cities in the Central U.S. Region.
