Aerotek Estimator in Baltimore, Maryland
Aerotek is currently working with a General Contractor in Maryland and we are looking for an Estimator to support the Chief Estimator. This position will be responsible for supporting estimator's and PM's with bid documents, submittals, subcontractor communication, etc. This is a long term permanent opportunity with a growing firm.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-Working knowledge of construction management scheduling and estimating softwares: Procore, Microsoft Project, P6 etc.
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints and proposals.
- 2 to 12+ years of experience working with a commercial GC. The client is willing to train anyone with Construction GC
experience who is interested in an Estimating career path. There is a wide range for the salary depending on total years of construction experience.
Daily Duties Include:
- Position will be responsible for coordinating bids from subcontractors.
-80% supporting with estimates and 20% Project Management Support
Participates in the generation of new business leads, development of marketing collateral and promotion of Company’s services;
Attends pre-bid meetings and site inspections to participate in determining best match for company capabilities and to prepare full, accurate and complete bids;
Performs material and labor take-offs, translates construction documents, researches material and project means and methods;
Understands project scope of work, specifications and regulatory compliance requirements and coordinates RFIs;
Performs proposal technical writing and prepares professional, effective presentations, correspondence and reports;
Solicits competitive bids from subcontractors and suppliers on behalf of estimators;
Assists estimators in generation of competitive bids and prepares and delivers bid packages;
Tracks bidding activity and maintains bid logs;
Participates in pre-construction process from award notice through stable hand-off to assigned project execution team;
Performs coordination for permits, certifications and licenses;
Participates in identifying improvement opportunities for quality of work and cost efficiencies;
Nurtures relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and industry professionals;
