Construction Carpentry Foreman
Worcester Eisenbrandt, a historical restoration construction company, is looking for an experienced Construction Foreman specializing in Carpentry to work on exciting projects in
Baltimore Maryland and surrounding areas.
This is a full-time position with benefits, including but not limited to: health, dental, vision, and paid time off.
General Information about the job:
The Construction Carpentry Foreman will coordinate operations and oversee workers at construction sites. As the point of reference of both workers and supervisors, you will be a key person for the completion of a project.
The foreman must have a solid background in the field. Your leadership skills and your extensive experience have earned you the ability to direct the work of others and make quick decisions. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.
Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
Allocate general and daily responsibilities
Supervise and train workers
Ensure manpower and resources are adequate
Guarantee all safety precautions and quality standards are met
Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
Monitor expenditure and ensure it remains within budget
Resolve problems when they arise
Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
Supervise a crew of 6 or more team members
Oversee construction of framing
Assign finish carpentry tasks to workers
Complete finish carpentry tasks as needed
Establish purchasing orders while maintaining and adhering to project budgets
Installs foundations, walls, floors, ceilings, and roofs using materials such as: wood, steel, metal, in accordance with the drawings
Ensure compliance with safety regulations
Fits and installs window frames, doors, door frames, door hardware, interior and exterior trim
Erects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground levels.
Constructs special projects and duties, as assigned
Requirements:
5+ years construction/restoration experience, preferably roofing, metal work, masonry or carpentry.
Proven experience as construction foreman
In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSHA guidelines
Understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
Physical Requirements
Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, positioning, handling of materials and manipulating items.
The ability to lift 75 to 100 pounds.
