This is your chance to join our team - help us to design the infrastructure and buildings that improve the world!The Safety Officer will interface with WRA staff to facilitate and manage compliance with applicable DHS, OHSA and DOT requirements and other safety initiatives in our field operations. This position will also be part of the COVID-19 Response team to assist with compliance to CDC and state guidelines. This is a full-time position, located in our Baltimore office, with frequent travel to field sites throughout the Mid-Atlantic region (with focus on MD, VA, DE, WV and PA) Responsibilities Develop policies, standards and safety proceduresInterpret and apply regulations, codes and bylawsPerform and document routine audits and inspections of site facilities and operations to evaluate compliance with regulatory health and safety requirements.Assist program staff in developing compliance solutions.Review existing plans and procedures for compliance with applicable federal, State, and local laws and regulations.Develop new operational, and health and safety documentation for future operations.Identify and develop relevant safety training programs for company workers and managementReview existing safety policies and update them where necessary Qualifications 5 + years of experience in a Safety Compliance role in a construction environmentBachelor's degree in Construction Management a plusIn depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHA/EPA) and proceduresCSP or similar certification (CIH, CHMM, etc.)Experience in writing reports and policies for health and safetyFamiliarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statisticsAbility to wear respiratory protective equipment (gas mask) and common occupational PPE (hard hat, safety shoes, eye and hearing protection.Excellent organizational skills.Good verbal and written communication skills.
