Position: Supply Chain/Materials Control Coordinator
Location: Baltimore, MD
Company Overview: LifeSprout is a medical device company developing the next-generation of soft tissue alternatives for aesthetic and reconstructive medicine. The company is led by a management team well-versed in the business, clinical, and scientific aspects of medical device company operation. LifeSprout is seeking a Materials/Supply Chain professional to direct LifeSprout?s materials function. Development of LifeSprout?s first product, an injectable filler for soft tissue reconstruction, will be regulated as a Class III medical device under the PMA pathway.
Summary: The Supply Chain/Materials Control Coordinator directs and provides hands-on execution of functions related to the purchase, receipt, inspection, storage, release, and distribution of materials needed in GMP manufacturing. This position works with Manufacturing, Quality Control and Quality Assurance to implement and manage inventory control systems for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Write, review, and revise material specifications for materials and components.
Follow policies and procedures to execute the receipt, inspection, storage, release, and distribution activities.
Establish and maintain tracking systems for raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods.
Monitor inventory levels and provide guidance on scheduling of replenishments.
Assist in the planning and scheduling of existing and new manufacturing activities to ensure timely acquisition of supplies to meet appropriate inventory needs during production campaigns.
Partner with stakeholder departments to identify critical issues relative to materials and planning.
Assist in the development of supply sources for materials and provide feedback regarding evaluation of vendor reliability.
Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures for procurement activities.
Responsible for the proper receipt and handling of hazardous materials.
Responsible for shipping materials and final products as needed.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Bachelor?s degree in related field preferred. Experience in a regulated environment in Materials Management or Supply Chain Management preferred. Experience in medical device/quality systems preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must be able to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to deal with changing priorities. Responsible for adhering to laboratory safety when necessary. Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50lbs.
Eligibility to work in the U.S. is required. Relocation assistance to Baltimore, MD will be considered based on candidate and circumstance.
