Eaton Corporation Repair Station Development Engineer in Beltsville, Maryland

Eaton’s Fluid Electrical Distribution division, a part of our Aerospace group, is currently seeking a Repair Station Development Engineer to join our team. This position is based at our Beltsville, MD office.

Position Overview:

The Repair Station Development Engineer is responsible for the development of new repairs for the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul business. Additionally, the role interfaces with various vendors/suppliers and will be required to develop new repair sources. This role develops component drawings and works with suppliers to procure them in a short lead time environment.

Please note, certain duties performed by this role require this position to be subject to the guidelines of our Repair Station Certificate and are subject to DOT drug testing.

In this function you will:

  • Develop and execute cost effective repair procedures for Eaton, non-Eaton and government regulatory agencies’ products

  • Research and comply with all required regulatory approvals for Aero Repair Station

  • Explore topics relating to – customers, markets, products, suppliers, competition, technology trends, economic drivers and financial indicators.

  • Provide frequent and effective two-way communication with internal and external customers in a timely manner

  • Partner with cross functional team to deliver new repair schemes in short lead time

  • Schedule and attend visits to customers to promote repair capabilities as requested, and perform regulatory audits as needed

  • Travel as required to customers, other Eaton locations, etc. to meet customer needs

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited university

  • Minimum three (3) years of engineering experience

  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future

  • This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Beltsville, MD will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a Part-145 Repair Station and/or Maintenance Repair Organization (MRO) environment

  • FAA Designee Certification

  • At least five (5) years of Aerospace industry experience working with component or system design and manufacturing

  • DFSS Green Belt

Position Criteria:

  • Working knowledge of mechanical design principles

  • Strong product design ability (Both new product & product modification)

  • Advanced knowledge in engineering report and specification writing

  • Ability to make recommendations on product designs, strongly influence product costs, and capital investments.

  • Ability to lead technical discussions and presentations for internal and external customers, including design reviews, non-advocate reviews and technical coordination meetings.

  • Thorough knowledge of product applications, product design techniques, engineering processes, and engineering standards.

  • Must obtain FAA/EASA/CAAC approval via a Consultant DER

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
