This position is located in the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Office of Operations (OO), Office of Finance, Budge , and Acquisitions and Planning (OFBAP), Office of Financial Management (OFM).
Provides the day-to-day leadership and guidance, both technical and administrative
to the professional, and technical personnel assigned to the staff.
Assists in planning work to be accomplished for Office staff, sets and adjusts short-term priorities,
work based on priorities.
Reviews completed work, and appropriate, work in progress, and appraises the performance and potential of the subordinate staff.
Interviews prospective candidates for positions and makes recommendations for appointments,
promotions, or reassignments of personnel assigned.
Makes recommendations for needed revisions in staffing levels of work priorities to Division Director.

The position of Supervisory Financial Management Specialist falls under the 0501 occupational series. To qualify for this position at grade GS-14, you must meet Time-in-Grade requirements by 11:59 pm EST on 04/19/2021. For the GS-14 grade level, applicants must have one year of specialized experience at the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is experience with the Prompt Payment Act; applying federal fiscal law, policies, regulations, principles, standards, internal controls and procedures to financial management activities; analyzing specific problem areas in financial management operations and advising management on changes to workflow practices or procedures; and setting and/or adjusting short-term and/or long-term priorities and preparing overall plans/schedules for accomplishment of objectives.

Time-in-Grade: Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service).
