We are seeking an experienced individual to work as a Animal Biologist at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD.
This is a long-term contract position which offers:

TASKS/SERVICES. The contractor shall:
Assist with ensuring that trainees and staff complete required training.
Assist PI and lab members with filling out forms/paperwork including submission of animal protocols, manuscripts
Act as the point of contact (POC) and coordinator for the annual NIH wide Sweep/registrations of infectious agents, human material or other biosafety registrations.
Assist PIs with completing technology transfer: MTAs, invention reports, CRADAs applications and research proposals.
Maintain a centralized database of major equipment to ensure critical equipment is covered by a service contract.
Act as POC for equipment management, including scheduling equipment maintenance and responding to equipment related emergencies.
Work closely with NCCIH administrative and scientific staff, and administrative officers.
Assist with manuscript clearance and submissions to PubMed Central
Assist with the scheduling and management of laboratory safety inspections
Attend NCCIH DIR Admin Meetings when appropriate.
Keep track of lab purchasing requests, assist in entering purchases into POTS and assist in submitted invoices on materials received Responsible making sure lab supplies remain stocked (PPE, cleaning supplies and general reagents).
Ensure the lab is clean and all safety protocols are followed by other lab managers.
Assist in design and operation of laboratory animal experiments.
Assist in design and operation of laboratory histological experiments.
Assist in organizing and monitoring transgenic mouse colony.
Maintain a complete, detailed lab notebook when working with team members during experiments
Assemble data in tabular form, i.e., tables, graphs, charts when working with team members during experiments
Work closely with NCCIH Administrative officers, including assisting with general NCCIH-IRP business and attending regular staff meetings.
REQUIREMENTS. The contractor must have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology/Neuroscience or a related discipline.
Minimum of seven (5) years of work experience.
Demonstrated lab and managerial experience.
Strong communications skills, both oral and written.
Excellent analytical, organizational and time management skills.
