The Director Brand Retail Activation is a key business member of the global brand and marketing team. The position will work closely with all global brand leaders and Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques to develop and execute a comprehensive brand product strategy for our online retail business (Marriott Bonvoy Boutiques). The Boutiques / online retail business is an important part of Marriott’s new business revenue streams and elevates brand experiences through complementary consumer and in-home products. The director will identify retail trends, develop products appropriate for each brand working closely with the Boutiques team on portfolio, specs and pricing, work with vendors to source the product, develop product packaging and ensure on brand customer support and delivery processes.

In addition, this position will serve as the SME to pull through brand requirements into the online retail strategy and brand retail website development, particularly focused on Luxury, in partnership with both the brand teams and the Boutiques team. The Director will also help establish brand and retail performance metrics.


Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major.

  • Eight or more years in the online retail and boutiques business

  • Experience delivery online branded retail experience

  • Experience managing vendor relationship, product development, package development and customer service

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.


Brand and Product Strategy

  • Define online boutique retail strategy that is in complement to global brand strategy by brand

  • Identify products by brand that enhance the in-home brand experience

  • Manage product specs to ensure they fully represents each brand’s in-home expectations

  • Identify packaging that enhances product aesthetics and is appropriate by brand

  • Define the merchandising approach for each boutique

Customer Experience and Support

  • Identify and build the end-to-end customer journey and experience for branded digital retail

  • Work with supplier and partners to develop a customer support model and KPIs to ensure on brand strategy service experience


  • Identify promotions to drive results

  • Track and identify top selling products and continually adjust the merchandising strategy to enhance performance

  • Set revenue and product sales goals and measure as appropriate
