We are seeking an Americas Events Marketing Manager to help us demonstrate the future of technology as it relates to AI, security, data, and cloud in the U.S. Federal marketplace (including Defense & Intelligence or Civilian Agencies)

As an Events Marketing Manager, you will:

  • Craft event experiences that differentiate IBM and allow direct buyer connections to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), driven by an overall marketing campaign and in collaboration with Worldwide and Geography-specific marketers.

  • Deploy 360 degree digital and social tactics to drive buyer engagement before, during, and after the event.

  • Build event attendance drive-to strategies and follow-up plans for all attendees with digital e-nurture and telephone lead generation.

  • Closely align with extended teams to ensure outbound tactics are cohesive with IBM-led and third-party events as part of broader campaigns.

  • Measure and analyze performance using the Event Suite of Tools; operate with an eye towards continuous improvement.

  • Be our in-house authority on audience engagement techniques, platforms, and trends in the industry; develop next-level IBM event experience strategies.

  • Understand new channels such as mobile applications and their integration into the event experience.

  • Execute event experiences end-to-end with an "on-time, on-strategy, on-budget" mentality and a hands-on approach.

  • Partner with external agencies and vendors on existing engagements and new opportunities; build sound relationships to reflect IBM’s business needs and priorities.

You should be someone who:

  • Has a successful track record in event marketing.

  • Can adopt agile methodologies to act strategically and think creatively, particularly when identifying target audiences and devising experiences that surprise-and-delight.

  • Is on-point with the latest trends in event experiences and registration, and measurement and is eager to share their wisdom broadly.

  • Has a certain gravitas and effectively communicates up or down; able to sell "the big idea" whether it's strategies, ideas or recommendations.

  • Brings a "numbers-forward" approach, including recommendations on event performance + optimization, audience generation, effective use of event tactics, and return-on-investments.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 2+ years of experience in end-to-end events management, strategy, execution, and/or program management.

  • 1+ years of experience marketing of products or services

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 3+ years of experience in end-to-end events management, strategy, execution, and/or program management.
