Your Role and Responsibilities
We seek an expert to join the IBM Corporate Communications team in a new role overseeing our Owned Media efforts. This person will lead a team that manages a variety of corporate social media channels, as well as the editorial content that is posted to the IBM Newsroom. The successful candidate will be a master storyteller, and a master story-sharer. This person will ensure that every story we tell has a clear audience and an actionable distribution strategy through both paid and organic means and will partner with earned media focused colleagues across the function to maximize our efforts. They will lead the charge on developing measurable strategies to enhance the business and reputation of IBM via the Owned Media channels of IBM Corporate Communications.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
10+ years experience in corporate communications
A proven track record leading Owned Media efforts for well-known brands. Large public company experience preferred.
Deep knowledge of social media algorithms, SEO, and distribution strategies to reach the right audiences for corporate content
Tremendous intellectual curiosity and the capacity to come up to speed quickly on complex technical topics
An editor’s eye for great writing and visual storytelling
An intensely collaborative style. IBM is a highly matrixed organization and the person who is successful in this role will thrive in a “we” (not an “I”) environment
Proven experience leading and growing creative, effective teams
