Marriott is seeking someone like you to provide top notch analytics and strategic recommendations to Marriott’s Marketing organization. You will enable marketing strategy by conducting analysis to evaluate a variety of advertising and marketing programs in paid and owned channels, with special emphasis on digital. You will ensure that marketing stakeholders will optimize of their marketing efforts by developing and communicating insightful and actionable analysis. This role entails outstanding business to technical translation, structured yet creative thinking, cross-functional collaboration, hands on advanced analytical methods. This role is part of a highly visible team that is tasked with growth acceleration and reinventing customer experience for Marriott.

This position is part of the broader CX Customer, Digital and Marketing Analytics team, which is charged with developing and utilizing state-of-the-art analytic approaches and generates business intelligence about customer attitudes and behaviors across all customer-facing touch points along the B2C and B2B customer journeys.


Education and Experience

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university inanalytics, economics, statistics, or relevant area. Advanced degree in quantitativediscipline preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years in marketing, email or mediaanalytics or a related technical discipline


  • Stronghands-on knowledge of SQL, Python and/or R required

  • Strongdata analysis skills and experience, including querying and manipulation oflarge quantities of data

  • Experiencewith Tableau is a plus

  • Proficiencyin MS Office; including PowerPoint, Word, Excel

  • Datamodeling experience is a plus

  • Experiencewith statistical analysis, business intelligence, and data mining tools is aplus


  • Proficient with DOE and A/B and multivariatetesting

  • Experience with Adobe set of marketing tools suchas Adobe Campaign, Audience Management, Analytics strongly preferred

  • Experience with digital marketing platformsincluding Google, Facebook, Koddi, affiliate platforms, is a plus

  • Demonstrated analytical skills with ability tosynthesize and analyze large volumes of complex information from multiplesources

  • Ability to execute advanced analytic tasks(including but not limited to modeling, segmentation, DOE, forecasting, etc.)and create meaningful analytical outputs

  • Measureeffectiveness of key Marketing efforts, applying best practices and proposingthe right analytical techniques for measuring effectiveness

  • Partnerwith Marketing leaders to support their efforts through strategic analysis,tracking performance vs. goals, providing recommendations and insights forfuture efforts

  • Set up and manage program KPIs by designing andimplementing comprehensive, measurable testing plans.

  • Synthesizedata to translate results into KPIs for the evaluation of the efficacy of campaign

  • Propose and implement hypothesis-driven tests,evaluate test and campaign results, develop analysis/reports and make recommendationsfor improvement

  • Analyze the role of display, paid search, meta search andaffiliate marketing in driving Marriott’s overall performance, develop insightswhich drive marketing strategy

  • Develop a framework for creating and executingmultiple holdout, A/B and multivariate tests across marketing initiatives

  • Perform hands-on analyses on large volumes of datafrom ad serving platforms, individual media platforms (eg Facebook), emailservice providers (ESP) and customer level data.

  • Work with complex data structures; manipulate andcleanse data and perform statistical analysis

  • Create optimization strategies, testing roadmaps,test designs and testing repositories for ongoing learning

  • Develop and document testing and measurement processesand policies to further increase the quality and rigor

  • Conductdeep dive analytics relative to customer acquisition

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the businessquestions and translate into requirements and measurement plans

  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders inDigital, Audience Management and Personalization, Paid Media, IT andpartners/vendors as well as key team members in CX such as Data Strategy,Advanced Data Sciences

  • Work collaboratively with third party marketing agencies tooutline SLAs and governing principles for analytics

  • Work collaboratively with other analytics, research, and insightteams to generate enterprise-level insights and strategies

  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders enabling self-serve access todata and providing training and guidance

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations thatprovide analytical recommendations and actionable insights to disseminatefindings and successful practices to key stakeholders and senior management.

  • Explain complex analytics to a broad audience withvarying levels of technical background and understanding.


  • Managessmall projects and provides support to larger scale departmental initiatives

  • Respondsto, solves and makes decisions on more complex/non-routine business requestswith limited to moderate supervision

  • Providestraining and technical guidance to less senior staff, where appropriate, andserving as point-of-contact for problem resolution

  • Providesproject support (requirements gathering, technical documentation, testing,training, etc.) for larger initiatives
