Vectrus Entry Level Engineer/Engineering Internship in Bowie, Maryland

As either an Entry Level Engineer or an Engineering Intern at Vectrus, you will be provided the opportunity to learn from our professional engineering team while you support multiple DoD Program Offices as well as our commercial customers. You will work alongside our engineering team to perform E3 testing/analysis, operational spectrum management, spectrum certification, EMC analysis, and 4G/5G LTE system development/testing.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
• Analyze the RF compatibility of various co-located systems and develop EMC techniques to mitigate EMI.• Calculate link budgets and perform coupling analysis to identify operating capabilities and feasibilities of DoD and other spectrum dependent systems. • Use various propagation and RF modeling tools to model EMI and EMC between systems that are either co-located or spread out over vast area. • Work with a team to develop custom propagation analysis tools using MATLAB and/or Python to analyze complex RF systems and environments. • Research system and equipment characteristics along with performance criteria.• Analyze and mitigate potential EMI between different Naval vessels and systems. • Develop test and system implementation procedures for DoD and/or 4G/5G systems. • Work as part of a team to ensure project goals and timelines are met.• Participate in internal discussions concerning project status, concerns, and potential mitigations.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Real-Time Spectrum Analyzers (RSA), Signal Generators, Amplifiers, and general RF testing equipment.
Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors and occasionally carry test equipment up to 50 lbs.
Associates (2) year degree or in pursuit of a Bachelor’s (4 year) degree from an accredited College or University in a related STEM field.
Experience preparing technical documents, test plans/reports, analytical evaluations, and presentations.
Ability to obtain a SECRET Security Clearance.
U.S. citizenship is required.
Past experience in MATLAB, Python, C, or C++ programming language.
Past experience with RSAs.
Active SECRET Security Clearance.
