Customer Engineers (CEs) are deep technical advisors supporting Enterprise customers to deliver unique value by removing blockers to consumption within their given Solution Area. CEs provide technical support including risk assessments and tuning to operate and optimize a customer’s cloud or on-premise environment. The Customer Engineer provides support delivery services as well as technical readiness through a Customer’s Support contract via dispatch by the account team. Customer Engineer services can be delivered either remotely or on-premises.

Responsibilities

Our Team of Customer Engineers (CE) provide technical leadership for customers around the world to promote health in their IT environments through onsite, remote and dedicated services. CE partners with Commercial Technical Support and Enterprise Services to strengthen the Microsoft Services Field Engineering capability worldwide.

As part of Microsoft’s Services Organization a Customer Engineer provides various services to our customers to increase systems availability, resolve critical issues and ultimately improve the health of our customers’ environments. The Customer Engineer works with experienced technical staff to ensure they have the skills to maintain and troubleshoot their solution in line with Microsoft best practices. When things do go wrong we provide rapid on-site expertise to resolve critical situations.

The Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Customer Engineer must be able to cover the following tasks:

  • Provide proactive and reactive services to our customers

  • Short term engagements through remote or onsite assistance and proactive services, such as educational workshops, performance reviews & best practice assessments

  • Long term engagements with Dedicated Support Engineering

  • 25% Travel throughout the region

  • Services delivered by highly skilled engineers with deep technical expertise in the product

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in developing, customizing, tuning, troubleshooting, implementing, and supporting Dynamics 365 CE, Dynamics CRM or related.

  • At least 2 years of application development experience in C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET, or related.

  • At least 5 years of experience working with Enterprise customers in any of the following: developing technology strategy, providing customer technical readiness and enablement, delivery support services, on premise and remote technical support, solution development, account management; technical requirements gathering; broad evangelism through events and community

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience preferred with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CE, Dynamics 365 CE Online, Power Apps and Power Platform.

  • Experience with database driven systems and/or familiarity with Azure is preferred

  • Troubleshooting and debugging experience

  • Good understanding of Automation, Continuous Integration and Deployment (DevOps) methodologies

  • Advanced Development experience in .NET languages (C#) and JavaScript

  • Deep understanding of the Dynamics 365 and Common Data Service (CDS) SDK: ability to troubleshoot & debug plugins, custom workflows activities and other components

  • Dynamics 365 CE Customer Engineers should be experienced in implementing, operating, customizing, tuning and troubleshooting Dynamics 365 CE systems, ideally across multiple industries

  • Experience in the enterprise customer segment preferred

  • Demonstrate strong communication skills; ability to develop strategic ongoing customer relationships, gain trust and respect for the company

  • Engineer must possess strong technical writing, presentation and training skills

  • Enjoy team work, and actively contribute to their peer group as well as our customer account teams

  • Ability to communicate with various levels is required: from CIO’s to technical staff

  • Microsoft Power Platform + Dynamics 365 Core certification preferred
