Pacific Western Bank Senior Financial Analyst in Chevy Chase, Maryland

Overview

The position works within the Financial Planning and Analysis team and will be involved in corporate development, capital stress test and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Corporate Development

  • Financial modeling, strategic analysis, and forecasting

  • Market research related to the industry and peers

  • Identify issues, create hypotheses, collect data, execute analysis, and deliver insights

  • Identify external information sources, leverage internal data analyses, and industry benchmarks to support assumptions, scenarios, and insights

  • Capital Stress Testing / Capital Planning; providing support with respect to:

  • Applying economic scenarios and regression models to project financial results under stressed economic and market conditions

  • Assessing capital adequacy in stress scenarios and determining appropriate adjustments to capital actions

  • Preparing presentations and schedules related to quarterly dividend payments

  • Special projects as necessary

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience:

Required: 3-4 years of relevant work experience

Preferred: Experience in financial services industry strongly preferred. Investment banking or public accounting experience desirable.

Education & Certifications:

Required: Bachelor’s degree

Skills, Behaviors, & Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills

  • Understanding of financial statements and related concepts and terminology

  • Ability to logically break down approach and assumptions

  • Deadline-driven, organized and able to multi-task

  • Ability to work in a team and on a standalone basis

  • Proficiency with MS Office applications including Excel and PowerPoint
