The Director of Drilling manages technical and operational activities to execute the drilling operations and workover plans in a safe, cost effective, predictable, and efficient manner.

  • Oversees the selection and deployment of drilling services and subcontractors, while partnering with supply chain to successfully execute agreements

  • Directs the activities of regional Drilling Coordinators

  • Establishes and oversees drilling quality plans and training systems

  • Establishes and oversees safe operating procedures, with clearly defined and well managed control policies and procedures

  • Develops internal communications related to drilling services

  • Targets and develops new clients who require drilling services

  • Applies a data-driven management approach, while ensuring F&R delivers stellar performance for our clients.

  • Sets targets and develops systems to assure schedule and cost compliance, while seeking means for continuous improvement across all areas of drilling operations

  • Responsible for ensuring proper use and maintenance of all drilling and related equipment

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • 10+ years of related experience

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

  • Must be a team leader who can lead growth and success through F&R core values

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills (oral and written)

  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve goals

  • Must be able to problem-solve without compromising integrity of the work

  • Ability to manage internal and client conflicts toward agreeable resolutions

  • Excellent attention to details

  • Valid driver’s license and good-standing driving record

  • Some travel will be required

  • Must be willing to participate in and pass F&R’s pre-employment screening including a background investigation, drug screening and driving record
