Vectorworks HR Specialist (Compliance & Training) in Columbia, Maryland

What’s in it for you?

The Vectorworks, Inc. human resources team is looking for a Compliance & Training Specialist to support our team members located in our offices globally.

In this role, you will serve as the expert in both, US employment law and the common business practices within each of the US states in which we have remote employees.

Additionally, this role will further expand our employee training programs.

In this role, you should expect to:

Provide training and development related services to all our internal customers, as well as compliance support to the HR team.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with US employment laws. Remain current on changes and advise accordingly

  • Ensure that the company is compliant with all local and state laws in which we have employees

  • Ensure all legal documents including the employee manual, employment agreements, service agreements, job descriptions, etc., adhere to legal requirements

  • Complete all AAP, EEO, & Vet-100 filings

  • Manage vendor and consultant contract and agreements

  • Assist with immigration tasks as needed

  • Assist with employee file audits as needed

  • Other duties as assigned

Training and Development

  • Manage training activities including coordinating, scheduling and prioritizing

  • Deliver in-house training on various HR and compliance topics

  • Participate in the development of the training budget as required

  • Prioritize training resources and training towards business needs

  • Work to develop content material for customized training initiatives

  • Conduct new hire orientation

  • Conduct new hire onboarding meetings

  • Lead and strategize content for Getting to Know Vectorworks Day – half day company orientation

  • Coordinate Vectorworks software training for new hires

  • Gather feedback from key stakeholders in efforts to continually improve the knowledge transfer and skills development processes

  • Assist with performance management

  • Manage vendor and consultant relationships

  • Complete special project work as assigned

  • Contribute to human resources department efforts by accomplishing related tasks

  • Perform clerical functions as needed

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field

  • 2 years of training and development experience

  • 2 years of practical experience supporting multi-state employees

  • 2 years of working experience in a professional level human resources role

Extra Credit

  • GPHR, PHR or SHRM-CP Certification is a plus

  • International HR experience
