Iron Mountain Quality Improvement Coordinator in Columbia, Maryland

Iron Mountain/Makespace is a moving and storage company that services a residential customer base in 11 major markets across the U.S and Canada. We specialize in residential moving services (packing, wrapping, securing and moving all residential goods). We are currently looking for individuals who are motivated by providing first in class customer service to our customers, enjoy an active work environment and love to work with a collaborative team!

The Quality Improvement Specialist (QIS) will work in a cross-functional role between Quality/Continuous Improvement and Operations. As a liaison between these teams, the QIS will be actively leading and deploying quality and improvement activities in the warehouse. The role will also be working closely with the Customer Support Team to resolve field escalations and quality issues directly from customers.

What we do:

  • Identify and quantify any recurring Ops issues; ensuring they are flagged to the appropriate managers and, when necessary, to Head of Quality

  • Initiate, implement and lead the warehouse operations efforts to improve and sustain quality standards and improvement culture across all team members

  • Actively manage exception handling to investigate, troubleshoot and solve customer issues

  • Establish and maintain warehouse 5S activities and ensure sustenance

  • Perform and report frequent warehouse process audits and drive improvement through writing and deploying SOP’s along with OPS

  • Actively engage with CS for ticket resolution and enhancing the customer’s experience

Job Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in the use of computer software. Previous experience with MS Word and Excel is required

  • Previous experience with Looker or SQL coding is useful but not required

  • Must be comfortable lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds and sitting/standing for 8+ hours per day

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean can be extremely valuable but not required
