The Role: Xylem’s HR philosophy is to partner with the business through collaboration and engagement via clients, peers and subject matter experts. The Senior HRBP we are seeking will be an enthusiastic team player dedicated to customer service, continuous improvement and progressive HR thinking. The individual will have to get involved at the transactional level for certain tasks while strategically working with leaders to implement practical and at times innovative people practices that will drive the creation of highly effective teams that deliver results.
Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
HR Business Partnering / Compliance
Partner with leaders to ensure people practices are compliant in the countries, states, provinces we operate in; will be global with focus on US, Canada, Philippines, Singapore, Europe, Asia. With our model, will have access to local HR support.
Implement / coach on Xylem policies/processes. Policies/processes may differ pending country/state/province and/or business requirements; will require cultural awareness and sensitivity.
Utilize data to support observations/trends; work with leaders to identify strategies to mitigate/reinforce trends.
Recruitment / Talent Management
Provides council / guidance on the division’s organizational structure and assists with keeping the structure up to date within Workday, Xylem’s HRIS.
Partner with the Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence for all vacant positions. HRBP works with hiring manager to get position posted, a recruiter is then assigned and works with the hiring manager throughout the selection process. HRBP’s are expected to stay informed on the hiring progress and to provide strategic support as required.
Work with the recruiter and hiring managers to implement effective recruitment strategies and identify interview teams with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion.
Partner with leaders to complete quarterly and annual performance reviews and work with leaders on creating/implementing development plans for low performers, high performers, and critical roles.
Encourage adoption of Workday across client group to ensure personal data is maintained and personal profiles are populated for use by the HR and leadership teams to facilitate employee movement.
Support participation in corporate learning and development initiatives.
Primary point of contact for employees / leaders on employee relations / performance issues.
Provides counsel / advisory support to leaders on employment issues.
Works with leaders to develop, implement, and manage performance improvement plans. Works with HR peers and business leaders to identify growth opportunities/projects for high potentials.
Provides advisory / onsite support to leaders throughout involuntary termination process.
Conducts exit interviews for voluntary resignations
Compensation / Benefits
Reviews / recommends compensation details for employees (i.e. new hires, transfers, promotions).
Facilitates the annual compensation review process for dedicated client group; adhering to corporate process and practices.
Reviews current compensation practices to ensure alignment with market; puts forth proposals for change as required.
Partners with the Shared Services team to ensure employee questions pertaining to benefits/pay are addressed.
Provides initial point of contact for employees who may need to submit a disability claim.
Actively identifies gaps, proposes and implements changes necessary to cover risks.
Collaborates with leaders and Human Resource peers to design, implement, revise corporate/divisional processes (i.e. onboarding, employee changes, performance reviews).
Creates and delivers leader presentations.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
5-7 years of intermediate/senior level business partner experience; SHRM considered an asset
Post-secondary education in a Business Management / HR preferred
Experience working with global client group, preferred
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with peers, leaders and client groups
Proven ability to manage multiple projects / tasks while maintaining focus on the management of change through the implementation of new / revised processes and programs
Hands on experience implementing and maintaining corporate HR programs; with interest in creation of divisional programs as required.
Proven ‘team player’ within client group, peer group, and supporting services.
Ability to facilitate meetings and deliver presentations and workshops to groups and senior level management.
Proven experience working within a geographically diverse client group.
Exposure / experience working with clients based in North America, Europe, Asia and Asia Pacific.
