Rohde and Schwarz Senior Strategic Planning Engineer in Columbia, Maryland

Rohde and Schwarz develops, produces and markets innovative products for test and measurement, broadcast and media, cybersecurity,secure communications and monitoring and network testing areas.We are seeking a highly motivated; results oriented Senior Strategic Planning Engineer for Aerospace and Defense Applications.As a Strategic Planning Engineer, you will support new product development projects for signal and spectrum analyzers, phase noiseanalyzers, signal generators and power meters. The ideal candidate will reside near one of our U.S. offices in either California, Oregon,Texas, or Maryland. We will also consider candidates centrally located to any major U.S airport hub.The Senior Strategic Planning Engineer will be responsible for developing high-level system and measurement requirements in collaborationwith R/D for both signal generators and spectrum analyzers. This role will primarily focus on new measurement equipment for the aerospaceand defense electronics markets. This position will also work closely with strategic market leading customers to validate early developmentconcepts and prototypes from both a technical and market applicability perspective. The candidate will join a global team of experiencedhardware and software engineers focusing on the development of a portfolio of measurement solutions to address the Radar, EW, andSatellite, ISR, Military Communications and Avionics market segments.Senior Strategic Planning EngineerYour tasks:Create market analysis material that takes into account customer needsand the competitive environment.Develop product concepts across the entire portfolio in close collaborationwith the RandD teams and product managers.iEstablish strategic customer relations for proofing the customeracceptance in the AandD market with a focus on the US.Strategize and execute market introductions in close collaboration with theproduct management team.Capture management of prioritized customer use cases and system levelmeasurement requirements.Presenting and demonstrating technical measurement solutions to trainour internal applications engineers and customers.The ability to lead a cross-functional division, marketing and field teams tooptimize business growth worldwide with new product introductionsserving the aerospace defense markets.Lead the customer support activities of prerelease alpha and betainstrumentation at the customer site.Lead the technical and capture management for large US governmentinstrumentation contracts.Your qualifications:Bachelors or Master Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science orequivalentUS Person5+ years software design and development experience.10+ years of experience working with RF/Microwave test equipmentperforming measurement and characterization of RF/MW components,sub-systems and systems.Preferably 5 + years of microwave systems engineering experience in oneor more of the following aerospace and defense application areas: Radar,EW, Surveillance, Satellite and Military Communications.Proven ability interfacing with multiple teams with multiple priorities.Flexibility and willingness to travel to Munich Germany to work withengineering and product management teams located around the world.Ability to travel regularly 30% of the time to both European and U.S.locations.Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and externalcustomers in a multinational environment.Experience in publishing and delivery technical symposium papers andvideo content.Experienced in customer facing and sales situations to present alternatesolutions and carefully manage customer expectations.If this sounds like the job youive been looking for, please email your resume to RSNA.careers@rsa.rohde-schwarz.com and reference job numberUS-SAN-50892098-001.
