Burris Logistics Overnight Receiving Clerk in Elkton, Maryland
Burris Logistics is looking for aReceiving Clerkto provide WOW service for our customers by effectively and efficiently completing receiving processes, to including verification of receiving documents, proper data entry of product being received and effective document management.
Responsibilities
Regular and consistent attendance
Verification of received product documentation, Bills of Lading, and our receiving documentation
Notify Supervisor of major discrepancies, before product is received
Proper documentation of inbound carriers in Receiving Log
Posting of received purchase orders
Preparation of the Receiving Exception Report daily
Coordinate with receiver and lumper on priority of Dock Door assignments and driver contact
Assist with collection of freight handling fees, late delivery fees, check approvals for these amounts and issue receipts
Verification of documentation on product received, Bills of Lading, and our receiving documentation (Warehouse receiving documents, purchase orders, date codes, pallet verification report, and receiving exception report)
End of shift receiving/inventory debrief
Print pick stats out of APT
Check APT and Time Advantage to ensure team members time and performance are accurate
Properly document outbound trailers in shipping log
Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies to supervisor
Maintain cleanliness and repair of dock, and facility areas
Maintain all food safety, housekeeping and other applicable standards
Assist Receiving Supervisor with monitoring bins and selectors and making necessary changes
Cross-train to cover Shipping Clerk functions as needed
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Education - High school diploma or GED. College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience preferred
Receiving or warehouse experience preferred
Knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) preferred
Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
Must be able to accurately handle cash and make change when necessary
Accuracy and attention to detail while multi-tasking several loads
Ability to use email, word-processing, spreadsheets, WMS and other applications
Ability to communicate clearly on the phone with customers
Able to read, write, speak and understand English
Ability to read and understand label data
Must be able to distinguish between similar items and similar numbers
Ability to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
Ability to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
Ability to do basic math to ensure proper counts
Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends and holidays
Ability to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computers, handheld trackers, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)
Physical Demands
Must be able to independently lift up to 25 lbs occasionally
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, on a frequent to continual basis in an office environment
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, on a frequent to continual basis in a warehouse environment
Must be able to grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a handtruck) on a frequent to continual basis
Must be able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)
Ability to read and understand label data
Must be able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
Must be able to work in a noisy warehouse environment
Must be able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
May be exposed to products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
