Parsons Corporation Electrical Hardware Engineer (ASIC/Design) in Fort George G Meade, Maryland

In this role you will:

  • Designs, documents, and develops code (to include firmware) for digital signal processors or other programmable hardware devices such as Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) hardware.

  • Analyzes the function of existing integrated circuits and hardware components for the purpose of reverse engineering the hardware and firmware.

  • Conducts the necessary hardware engineering and related functions to modify and adapt vendor-manufactured hardware to meet special Government needs and contingencies.

  • Design For Test (DFT) implementation and Automated Test Pattern Generation (ATPG)

  • Use of 1 of the following PFGA tools: Xilinx/Intel/Microsemi design tools and

  • Experience with RTL coding (VHDL or Verilog)

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering

  • Eight (8) years experience as a hardware design engineer OR HS diploma and 12 years of Hardware design engineer experience

  • ACTIVE TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance

Desired / Preferred Qualifications:

  • Embedded FPGA (eFPGA) (ex Flex Logix EFLEX or Acronix Speedcore)

  • Embedded processors (ex Zynq or Microblaze or RISC)

  • Use of IP cores FPGA designs

  • ASIC Static Timing Analysis

Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
