Parsons Software Engineers analyze, design, and develop computer software required to support hardware or technical service products. The successful candidate will review system architecture, and select and implement appropriate development and support tools to ensure product performance, as well as test and debug related software. Bachelor's Degree / Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field from an accredited institution or 3+ years of experience in similar role
2+ years professional experience with:
C/C++ in an embedded development environment
Linux kernel and/or device driver debugging
Multithreaded programming (mutexes, semaphores, barriers, etc)
Preferred TCP/IP network stacks
Routing protocols (MPLS, etc)
Position Specific Capabilities:
Skills and experience (preference level):
(P1) Ability to write Python (currently Python 2, but there is a plan to transition to Python 3)
(P1) Ability to write C/C++ - does not need to be an expert
(P1) Strong Linux skills, comfortable with the command line (Fedora is a plus)
(P1) Writing skills and technical documentation experience with writing test plans and test procedures.
(P1) Communication skills to work with other testers and developers to get to the ground truth on relevant issues
(P2) GNU toolchain experience
(P2) embedded systems experience (usage of JTAG Debuggers, JTAG Programmers, Serial Ports, ESD equipment)
(P2) Atlassian experience (Confluence, JIRA, Crucible or something comparable)
(P2) Jenkins experience (or general DevOps experience, i.e. automated build, test, integration)
(P3) Government software framework experience
(P3) System administration experience (helps with design, development, and LCS of ATE - like using PXE, network equipment configuration, VMs, Docker containers, etc.)
LCAT Qualifications: Three (3) years of experience in software and firmware design, development and test to include writing clear, concise, functioning and fully commented code that follow applicable Government standards and a Master's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering from an accredited college or university is required OR Five (5) years of experience in software and firmware design, development and test to include writing clear, concise, functioning and fully commented code that follow applicable Government standards and a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physical Science, Computer Science, or Systems Engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
Must be able to obtain, maintain and/or currently possess a security clearance.
