CACI International Senior Systems Engineer in Fort Meade, Maryland

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Systems Engineer who has a current TS/SCI to come join our team in Ft. Meade, Maryland to work with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). As the Systems Engineer, you will join the team and be responsible for the physical and virtual environments on the domain. This includes installation and configuration of physical and virtual servers. Along with maintaining the virtual servers, the system engineer is responsible for maintaining the Horizon VMware environment, manage and organize Active Directory and Group Policy objects, design and configure MS exchange, identify incidents, diagnose and resolve problems. The system engineer will also be responsible for daily monitoring and routine maintenance.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • Configure, Install, Maintain Physical and Virtual Servers.

  • Configure, Install, Maintain Horizon VMware environment.

  • Create, manage, and organize Active Directory and Group Policy objects to enhance user experience and maintain the STIG compliance.

  • Design and configure Microsoft Exchange for redundancy without affecting performance or user access to e-mail.

  • Assist ISSO/ISSM in remediating any vulnerabilities from network scans.

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis and Problem Management

  • Serve as escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.

  • Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.

  • Create and maintain system documentation for domain technologies, including installation configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.

  • Perform remediation based on approved security scans.

You Will Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or IT/Computer Science and/or 7+ years of experience in related field.

  • CCND or experience with Cisco UCS technologies


  • Network Storage experience (NetApp)

  • Advanced Experience in the following technologies: Microsoft Exchange, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016, Windows 7/10.

  • Advanced experience in all of the following technologies: VMWare, ESXi, Active Directory, Group Policy

  • CompTIA Security+ or higher.

  • Experience installing, configuring and administrating the following datacenter and network hardware:

  • Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)

  • NetApp Storage Systems (for Microsoft Windows and VMware VDI environment

  • Taclane Encrypt

  • Flex-Pod Environment

  • Experience installing, configuring and administrating the following enterprise software:

  • Teradici Management Software

  • McAfee Enterprise Anti-Virus McAfee Host Based Security System (HBSS) (for Microsoft Windows and VMware VDI environments)

  • ACAS – Assured Compliance Assessment (for Microsoft Windows and VMware VDI environments)

  • Oral and written communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • CCND or experience with Cisco UCS technologies

  • ACAS experience

  • Type 1 encryption operational experience
