The Alaka’ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for a Senior Trainer to provide the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) with Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) support out of Ft. Meade, MD.


  • Responsible for developing training materials and scenarios for informal training and the review and evaluation of existing training materials for a customer buying, delivering, installing, and providing training on hardware/software suites for security worldwide.

  • Use industry best practices in adult learning principles and theories.

  • Work in a high tempo environment, identify needed training scenarios, distill information from software and hardware manuals on use of software and basic troubleshooting techniques if problems occur, and put that into briefing presentation that would be understandable to both the basic and advanced user.

  • Provide training via virtual sessions such as MS Teams or Zoom to customers in different geographical locations.

  • Work is expected to be accomplished from a Ft Meade, MD Government location with potential infrequent local travel.


  • Experience with the DoD.

  • Experience building training materials used by functional testers to ensure they understand how the software operates.

  • Demonstrated ability to interface with testing organizations to identify training required prior to operational tests.

  • Experience as a facilitator of training to organizations, installation teams, testers, and evaluators of hardware/software suites.

  • Assess student knowledge, skills and abilities to gauge student proficiency in topic area.

  • Experience developing training prototypes and explaining functionality in terms understandable by users, testers, and functionals.

  • Experience using web-based or distance learning teaching technologies, to include on-line forums and multimedia presentations.

  • Perform task and skill analysis of training requirements to develop learning objectives within training materials.


  • Experience developing training for suites of security hardware/software.

  • Experience instructing users on automated systems.

  • Experience in training delivery management for documenting instructor and end user training and certification and providing associated attendance and performance tracking and reporting.

  • Experience preparing and delivering oral presentations.


  • 4+ years of experience providing support in such areas as course development, training and testing material development, and instruction delivery.


  • Must be a US citizen.

  • Must have a Top Secret clearance.
