Que Technology Group Systems Engineer in Fort Meade, Maryland
System Engineer to assist in queue management and triage of tickets in order to maintain a high level of customer support. In this position, the candidate will also assist in the day to day operations and responding to mission needs. The candidate will identify process improvement strategies and follow them through implementation. This position requires a working knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems. As the Systems Engineer, you will play a significant role in automating processes to improve overall team performance. You will also provide technical content for all configuration documentation associated with assigned infrastructure and automation efforts.
Other duties include:
Maintain existing legacy tools and help plan transition to new tools.
Lead process improvement efforts to include design, work break down structure, scheduling and implementation.
Conduct queue management
Gather requirements to automate various processes and implement through scripts and utilization of API’s as appropriate.
Design, develop, document, integrate, test and deliver scripts, code and other services employing standard industry processes and procedures.
Collect metrics from a variety of sources and present the data on an interactive dashboard.
Interact effectively, courteously, and directly with the technical teams to resolve technical issues.
Read, write and implement standard operating procedures and technical documentation.
Produce and/or contribute to IT knowledge articles.
Develop and maintain software applications and/or databases, including web applications and user interfaces.
TS/SCI Clearance with polygraph
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in computer engineering or in a field related to the computer engineering or computer science disciplines
5 years System Engineering experience. An additional 4+ years of System Engineering experience may be substituted for the degree for a total of 9 years.
Strong experience with Linux operating systems
Understanding of virtual environment
Understanding of databases
