How you will make an impact
The Logistics Specialist II will support and lead logistics activities driving and enabling customer satisfaction, shipment execution, and cost management. The ideal candidate has a background in truckload, intermodal, LTL, and small parcel logistics. They have demonstrated the ability to manage multiple concurrent initiatives, drive process improvement, standardize procedures and eliminate the root cause of defects within current systems. This job will require strong communication skills while having the ability to work independently in a high pressure, and often ambiguous, work environment.
What you will do
Support internal and external customers by providing timely status updates on domestic and international shipments.
Work with carriers and internal stakeholders to track shipment status.
Manage carrier partners to ensure daily execution of all movements, review performance and develop/design improvements to the supply chain, based on business priorities.
Participate in carrier evaluations working with N. American & Global Logistics team.
Follow and maintain well defined procedures as outlined by Best Practices, SOPs & work instructions.
Make decisions and utilize available resources to meet internal and external customer requirements, independently.
Embrace and utilize Practical Process Improvement (PPI) / Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Support external and internal partners to create/maintain metrics and KPI's.

How you will get here
- Bachelor's degree in transportation, logistics, distribution, supply chain, procurement or equivalent work experience.
5+ years' experience in logistics and/or transportation
Proven experience in domestic and international transportation for all modes of transport
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledgeable in rates, tariffs, discounts, classes and carriers
A good understanding of freight, distribution and supply chain terminology is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate will have management capabilities and the ability to take on additional/larger responsibilities as their skill set progresses.
Self-motivated individual who can work on their own to drive results
Strong Excel skills, working knowledge of MS Outlook, MS Power Point. Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP, E1, Oracle
Work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team.
APICS Certification a plus
