The Molding Set-Up Technician is responsible for supporting injection molding operations and production, which includes mold and machine set-up, changeovers, thermoplastic processing, basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting, part inspections, and operation of injection molding machines in ISO 7 and ISO 8 cleanrooms to manufacture parts to specification.
Prepare, Set-Up, and disassemble molds, machines, tooling and other materials before and after production runs.
Troubleshoot injection molding operations to ensure part conformity and quality.
Ensure that molds and machines are maintained and repaired in accordance with control plans and customer expectations.
Operate molding machines, degate, deburr, and/or deflash molded parts as needed.
Implement new molding processes for new tooling; establish parameters, work instructions, and routings, run samples, setup and teardown presses and other equipment for current and new programs as needed.
Coordinate with Production, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering and Maintenance stakeholders to meet internal and external customer needs.
Advanced understanding and ability to document production activities in the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)/Factivity.
Demonstrate advanced understanding of safety, follow site safety protocols and activities, conduct safety observations, and participate in or lead safety risk assessments.
Comply to cGMP and QMS requirements, demonstrating advanced understanding.
Support and investigate quality events, complaints, and CAPA investigations.
Consistently meets production output expectations and provides production improvements suggestions.
Follow SOPS, Work Instructions, and drawings independently and work with Drafters and Engineers to support document changes.
Demonstrate intermediate problem solving skills.
Follow 5S principles, perform or lead 5S and operational excellence projects.
Ability to train and mentor other team members.
Demonstrate good time management and comply with the site's attendance policies.
High school (or equivalent) diploma is required.
At least 3-5 years of experience in Thermoplastic processing, plastic injection mold machine set-up and maintenance or equivalent is required.
Prior experience in a cleanroom or regulated environment is preferred.
Basic Microsoft application skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
Good communications skills. Ability to read, write and interpret written and/or verbal instructions (English)
Basic computer skills (ability to use basic keyboard and mouse functions and navigate internet and applications)
Must have sufficient hand and eye coordination, manual dexterity, and near and farsighted vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Advanced math skills required (arithmetic and measurements)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment, work independently, and demonstrate basic leadership abilities.

Intermediate problem solving and logical reasoning skills.
Ability to train other team members on basic manufacturing duties.
