Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
The Procurement team is seeking an energetic, results-oriented individual. The Senior Buyer role is responsible for processing approved purchase requisitions and enabling the procurement of materials, scientific equipment and services under the direction of their supervisor. In addition, the Senior Buyer will coordinate supplier and vendor contacts and communicate problems or issues to the requisitioner.
Key Responsibilities:
Processes requisitions in a timely manner ensuring best quality, service, quantity, delivery and cost in accordance with organizational objectives and sourcing strategies
Process Orders through internal Chemical Ordering system supporting R&D departments
Review, process and execute Capital Equipment Orders
Work closely with the Receiving and Accounts Payable departments to resolve delivery and invoicing issues at the direction of their supervisor
Follow established procedures and perform activities according to documented SOX controls
Monitor Back Order Reports
Close and reopen POs as needed
Participate in team and departmental meetings
Collect P2P data and communicate it to business users and suppliers as necessary
Performs other duties and projects as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree (or equivalent) and 1- 4 years of relevant work experience
Exhibits understanding of the importance of project management, documentation of work and completion of projects on a timely basis
Demonstrates an understanding of all internal and external regulations and guidelines
Good time-management and follow-up skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working for global pharma/biotech company, R&D Procurement experience preferred
Oracle or similar ERP system knowledge strongly preferred
Proficient within Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Solid understanding of the Procure-to-Pay process is desirable.
Demonstrates technical competence to grasp new concepts and applications quickly
Pays attention to detail and has the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-transactional volume environment
Strong communicator, both verbally and written, able to clearly explain policies and issues to internal and external customers
