Both vaccine candidates incorporate Novavax' proprietary saponin-based Matrix-M adjuvant in order to enhance the immune response and stimulate high levels of neutralizing antibodies.Novavaxis a leading innovator of recombinant vaccines; its proprietary recombinant technology platform combines the power and speed of genetic engineering to efficiently produce highly immunogenic nanoparticles in order to address urgent global health needs.We are seeking a Vice President, Market Access to provide leadership within the Commercial Organization. This important role is responsible for establishing the vision and strategies for public and private payer relationships, and designing, hiring, and leading account management teams. This individual will create appropriate access channels with payers, including Medicare Part B and D, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and Commercial. This position will also be involved with strategic decisions regarding IDNs, distributors and wholesalers, VA, DoD and other relevant stakeholders. This role is also responsible for leading and aligning payer and reimbursement strategies with other components of the overall commercial strategy and acts as project lead and key decision maker responsible for coordinating the successful development and execution of the market access strategies. This leader will work cross functionally with multiple internal departments, including Marketing, Government Affairs, Commercial Sales, Legal and Medical Affairs and will report into the SVP, Commercial Strategy.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Lead the Novavax Market Access Strategy team to build and deliver upon well-integrated winning market access strategies in preparation to launch the vaccines pipeline, starting with the highly visible COVID 19 Vaccine. This will require the definition of new capabilities and new channel partnerships and the development of those capabilities and relationships.The development of payer value generation and access strategy requires public and private payer research and analysis, as well as direct interaction with influential payer decision makers. Develop and deliver solutions that are specific to the requirements of COVID-19 channel access, including the Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial segments.Design payer resource tools, tactics and implementation plans. This requires integration of pricing, payer research, health economic, clinical and epidemiology information to develop the optimal value strategy.Design, hire and lead a sophisticated, business savvy, efficient account management team that calls on payers and other high-level accounts. Team leadership skills and ability to manage, mentor, and develop staff is required.Work closely with internal partners including marketing, pricing, supply chain, account management, sales, distribution and legal. Lead and participate in the deployment and management of innovative programs to exceed customer expectationsEnsure the effective integration and leadership of the individual teams collaborating with team members, peers, and other internal business partners including but not limited to Government Affairs, Trade, Sales, Marketing, Legal/Regulatory to deliver on commitments and ensure the development of appropriate value propositions and programming for key customer stakeholders.Participate in the design and management of health outcomes studies including user-friendly cost-effectiveness and budget
