Pillar is currently on the lookout for a full-time Drafter (Engineering) to join our Grantsville, MD team. This individual will create detailed drawings for the mechanical and structural designs developed by Pillar Innovations. The Drafter (Engineering) will be based out of the Grantsville office, and will report directly to the Manager of Engineering.
Interpret engineered drawings / models to create detailed drawings
Utilize computer aided design software, such as Inventor, AutoCAD mechanical to develop 2D design drawings
Creating and modifying existing drawings as directed by engineers and management team
Creating accurate BOMs (Bill of Materials)
Organizing and planning work tasks to meet company goals
Sustain working knowledge of model/layout space and dimensioning components
Working with engineers to create customer documentation such as functional diagrams and user manuals
Maintaining accurate records and files according to quality standards
Valid driver’s license required
Associates Degree in Drafting from a Technical School or College, or Equivalent experience
Ability to work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals Ability to work as a team in a dynamic environment with rapid changes.
Ability to shift priorities quickly and be flexible.
Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines.
Ability to follow directions and a keen attention to detail
Ability to maintain many projects at once and meet deadlines
Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers, customers and vendors
Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to maintain professionalism among co-workers and customers
Must be dependable; trustworthy; and possess a positive and productive attitude
Willing and able to work a flexible schedule that includes extended hours
Willing to participate in the company’s background and drug screening process

Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
