Beitzel Corporation Structural Engineer - Grantsville, MD in Grantsville, Maryland
Pillar is currently on the lookout for a full-time Structural Engineer to join our Grantsville, MD team. This individual will provide engineering services by designing and constructing buildings and structures that are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they are exposed, as well as improving the structural integrity of existing buildings.
The Structural Engineer will be based out of the Grantsville office, and will report directly to the Director of Engineering Services.
Providing technical advice
Preparing reports, designs and drawings
Making calculations about loads and stresses and selecting appropriate construction materials
Obtaining planning and/or building regulations approvals
Work closely with other Engineers and Project Managers while managing various projects
Inspect properties to check conditions / foundations
Assures system and product quality by designing testing methods; testing finished product and system capabilities; confirming fabrication, assembly and installation processes
Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations
Complete projects by training and guiding technicians
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
Must be eligible for employment in the United States with a valid driver’s license
Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering
Experience with Industrial Construction Structural Design
Proficient use of engineering software such as AutoCAD Mechanical, AutoCAD Electrical, Inventor, SolidWorks and standard software such as Word and Excel.,
Self-motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a team or individual setting
Demonstrated organization skills to assimilate information provided by coworkers, clients, suppliers and outside organizations
Ability to convey technical information to members of management, coworkers and clients
Provide a positive interaction with customers while representing Pillar Innovations
Willingness to travel to customer’s site when an engineer is required for planning, installing, commissioning and maintaining equipment
Ability to work under stress and handle stressful situations. Ability to meet deadlines

Must possess a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment
This position requires the completion of a thorough background and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
