Aerotek Senior Electrical I&T Engineer in Greenbelt, Maryland


Provide electrical engineering support and expertise for the Electrical Integration and Test subsystem team. This I&T subsystem team performs the integration and test of all electrical and electromechanical hardware including the satellite payload and spacecraft bus.

Electrical integration and test engineer will oversee payload I&T activities, provide extensive electrical expertise, and stand in for the payload I&T lead when necessary.

Oversee, manage, and support the integration and test of all electrical subsystems for a major satellite program for NASA

Provide expert electrical advice and support during the entire life cycle of test development

Oversee and advise test conductors and other project engineers

Oversee the development of the technical, operational, and functional requirements as well as the interface agreements of the servicing payload testbeds

Present status, issues, and risk to internal and external management

Ensure that the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the I&T technical documentation, reports, and deliverables comply with NASA and Restore-L standards, project plans, and policies

Support environmental testing to NASA hardware testing standards.

Write and review testing procedures

Plan integration & test campaigns with a team of engineers

Support, oversee, and execute test activities

Work in lab and cleanroom facilities with hardware, ground support equipment, and test equipment

Top Skills Details:

1) Electrical engineering experience

2) Experience with documentation, requirements gathering, engineering change orders, etc

3) Experience in configuration management (CM) and with product development related environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or closely related field with 10+ years of related experience

Experience with hardware integration and test, system verification and validation, and systems engineering, preferably at NASA or in aerospace

Experience in testing and writing automated tests, test development, managing test runs, tracking test results, troubleshooting, and measuring progress

Experience troubleshooting complex systems using various types of test equipment

Experience in executing tests for electrical hardware, including functional testing (front-end, back-end, and performance testing)

Experienced at authoring and maintaining project documentation and in resolving technical and schedule issues in order to ensure that deliverables are met on schedule

Proficiency in advising management, inside and outside own organization, on system architecture, technical results, or risks


Experience in system integration and test of spacecraft or flight instruments

Experience handling and testing engineering units and flight hardware

Proficiency in exercising discretion and independent judgment in evaluating potential approaches and solutions to critical problems and determining appropriate resolutions

Experience with NASA mission life cycle and review cycle (design reviews, requirements reviews, integration reviews, trade studies, etc.)
