Jacobs is currently interviewing TS/SCI Poly candidates for a Cloud Systems Engineer. The position is located in Hanover, Maryland.
Provide overall system engineering expertise in the architecture, design, development, requirements analysis, data flow, network design and/or implementation, or testing
Analyze user requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architecture to develop system requirements specifications.
Support cloud technology adoption and integration of components into the cloud architecture
Interface with customers and assist with metric formatting, data transport and overall understanding of metric health
Work with customer to build graphical visualizations and models to represent the health and status of their metrics
Facilitate the interface between customer and development teams; communicate requirements and design to developer teams for implementation; track and review development, keeping the customer in the loop
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Current TS/SCI with a polygraph
Bachelors’ degree in a technical disciple or 18 years with no degree
5 years’ experience in System Engineering and 12 years’ experience in a technical role
Experience as a Systems Engineer in programs that encompass systems architecture, requirements analysis, process execution and evaluation
Strong Linux experience managing and setting up hosts
Experience with customer requirement solicitation, capture, and refinement, decomposing requirements into system and functional requirements, generating systems engineering artifacts
Experience in application migration into cloud environments and technologies, as well as customer data types, protocols, and policies (AWS, AZURE, etc.)
Knowledge of and experience in Elasticsearch (administration/configuration) and NiFi
Excellent technical, nontechnical and bridging communication skills, both verbal and written
Experience with JIRA and Agile
Experience in understanding customer enterprise data handling and establishing new customer data flows
Experience in using Elasticsearch to build queries/visualizations/dashboards & Machine Learning
Experience working in a customer’s cloud environment in accordance security and compliance regulations
Basic scripting knowledge, able to read/modify bash/perl scripts
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
