Aerotek Proposal Writer in Hanover, Maryland
The Proposal Writer will be responsible for preparing high-quality, client-focused proposals and presentations in compliance with customer instructions, sales strategies and business needs. They will also provide sales support, document past performance and fulfill other marketing requests. They will work closely with business development, finance and other internal teams to provide proposal consultation, assist in RFP vetting, develop strategic messaging, coordinate the proposal process, write, edit, submit and store final products. The Proposal Writer will work within a proposal team environment and will report directly to the Team Lead.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Prepare high-quality, client-focused proposals and presentations in compliance with customer instructions, deadlines and business needs • Effectively research subject matter and demonstrate skill at efficiently organizing and translating information into clear written documentation, articulating complex concepts and processes in writing • Work closely with business development, delivery, finance, contracts and technical teams to provide proposal response management and consultation, assist in RFP vetting, develop strategic messaging, coordinate the proposal process, write, edit, submit and store final products • Ensure all materials appropriately reflect brand guidelines and value messaging • Partner with brand marketing, marketing communications, digital marketing and events team to ensure consistency and efficiency • Work collaboratively with the specific marketing channel managers and maintain a strong understanding of initiatives that impact the field including (but not limited to): Google reviews, advertising campaigns, QBRs, job fairs, open houses, collateral, case studies, etc. • Successfully manage all facets of the proposal process under aggressive deadlines, including proposal response planning, call facilitation, coordination, writing, development of responsibility matrices/compliance outlines, interfacing with internal Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), editing/proofing, production and quality control • Provide quality assurance on formatting and content • Assist in developing new solutions and proposal ideas with internal SMEs as needed • Collaborate with teams virtually • Create compelling case studies based on past performance and maintain an easily accessible database for the organization • Update standard content database on a regular basis • Collaborate with SMEs and market resources to develop compelling content focused on capabilities within specific industry segments • Manage production and distribution of documents • Update proposal tracking database throughout the proposal lifecycle • Support the creation of self-serve tools for business development teams • Support the development and maintenance of standard proposal information, systems and databases • Ensure all proposal content is consistent with external marketing collateral including sell sheets, advertisements, websites branding campaigns, press releases etc. • Support trade shows when required

• Excellent writing and editing skills • Ability to learn/understand/apply communication tactics and messaging requirements for various audiences • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced team environment • Knowledge of correct grammar, punctuation and spelling • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) • Ability to manage time, multi-task and excel in a deadline-oriented environment • Must be able to hold teammates accountable to deadlines and responsibilities • Strong MS Office suite experience, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint • Strong team player, with ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (Business, Marketing, Communications, English preferred) • One to three years business, proposal, marketing and/or technical writing experience preferred
