Upper Chesapeake Medical Center Registration Coordinator in Havre de Grace, Maryland
Under general supervision, performs pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, billing procedures, outpatient coding and collections for all types of patient services in accordance with service excellence standards. Interviews and assists patients with financial obligation. Interacts with adults, occasional interaction with adolescents and pediatric patients. Acts as representative and liaison between the registration areas and anticoagulation.
Education & Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Orientation & Experience: Prior experience in customer service. Performing registration duties in a hospital or medical office setting preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to understand, comprehends input, transcribe and type numerical or descriptive data from manual forms and verbal communication to automated media. Ability to perform basic mathematical functions correctly using a calculator; ability to use good judgment in making decisions; ability to organize and prioritize work assignments; ability to operate standard office machines; ability to work independently; ability to handle high stress environment; ability to deal with constant changes in work routines and priorities. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, medical and Nursing staff as well as other ancillary departments.
